O futebol é uma manifestação cultural que pode ter uma componente lúdica, por
isso despida de qualquer aspecto conflituante, alicerçada no bem-estar e na prática do
exercício desportivo mas conhece, igualmente, uma componente competitiva, que agrega e
desagrega as chamadas «populações associativas». O futebol é considerado o «desportorei
» por ser um desporto de massas à escala mundial com a capacidade de mobilizar
números elevados de indivíduos em redor de uma disputa entre equipas oponentes e
despertar os mais variados tipos de comportamentos e emoções, de acordo com os
resultados e incidências do jogo.
Numa sociedade contemporânea, na qual o espaço cultural, social e emocional do
indivíduo se desenrola ao longo de linhas mediáticas televisão, internet, telemóveis,
publicidade, etc.,- que são estruturantes da identidade, das necessidades e das
expectativas, os adeptos de futebol encontram forma de expressão emocional nos sites das
novas redes sociais.
A dissertação apresentada tem como objectivo compreender a mediação tecnológica
das emoções dos adeptos de futebol no facebook. Pretende-se compreender o adepticismo,
através de uma análise de conteúdo (textual e quantitativa), resultante da presença dos
adeptos na nova rede social no sentido da expressão das emoções online, decorrentes dos
desempenhos, sucessos e insucessos desportivos das equipas de futebol.

This dissertation aims to understand the mediation of football supporters emotions on facebook. It seeks to underst through an analysis (both textual and quantitative) of the contents generated by supporters on the new social network sites, online expressions of emotions in reaction to the sporting performance, success and failure of football teams.
