A preocupação de restaurar a saúde oral data da época neolítica e até aos dias de hoje tem sofrido imensas evoluções técnicas à medida que o conhecimento médico e a ciência em geral o permitem.
No entanto, para que seja restabelecida a saúde doente é necessário ter a capacidade de executar o procedimento com excelência e na situação oportuna, tendo em vista melhorar a qualidade de vida.
A aquisição plena destas competências pressupõe a prática clínica tutelada, pelo que este trabalho terá como objetivo servir de revisão crítica dos procedimentos clínicos efetuados e seus fundamentos teóricos, de forma a possibilitar uma reflexão sobre o processo de ensino-aprendizagem em contexto clínico e melhorar a qualidade dos tratamentos prestados nas diversas Áreas do Conhecimento da Medicina Dentária.
The concern of restoring oral health dates from the Neolithic ages and to the present day it has suffered many technical evolutions as the medical knowledge and science in general allow it. However, to restore one’s health it’s needed the skill to execute the procedure with excellence in the right situation and at the right time to reach a better life quality. Because we can only learn this skills training in clinical environment, the goal of this work is to critically revise the theory beyond the clinical procedures to improve the treatment quality in the several areas of Oral Sciences.
