Abstract(s)
O bullying escolar é uma prática de agressão e vitimização entre pares que deixa
consequências graves nas vítimas. Esta prática pode ser ao nível verbal, físico ou
psicológico. O objetivo desta investigação é detetar as consequências que o bullying
provoca nas vítimas e pode prejudicar a auto estima, levando a criança à depressão. O
presente estudo insere-se num plano de investigação quantitativa, de natureza
correlacional. Relativamente aos grupos e momentos de avaliação, o estudo é
transversal. Para a escolha de alunos a inquirir o método de amostragem é probabilística
e estratificada. A amostra é constituída por 400 alunos do 2º e 3º ciclo com idades
compreendidas entre os 11 e os 15 anos, da Escola General Serpa Pinto em Cinfães. Os
instrumentos utilizados foram A Agressividade entre Crianças no Espaço Escolar,
Escala de Auto-Estima de Rosenberg, Inventário de Depressão Infantil (CDI).
Verificou-se que os sujeitos vítimas de bullying apresentam baixa autoestima,
depressão, são maioritariamente do sexo feminino e que pertencem a um estrato social
menos elevado. A prevenção do bullying nestas faixas etárias é uma medida urgente de
saúde pública, pois afeta o desenvolvimento destas crianças.
The school bullying is a practice of peer aggression and victimization that leaves serious consequences on the victims. This practice can be at verbal, physical or psychological level. The goal of this research is to detect the impact that bullying causes in the victims and the damage on self-esteem, leading the child to depression. This study is a quantitative plan research, of correlational nature. Respect to groups and time points, the study is cross-sectional. To choose students to inquire the sampling method used was probabilistic stratified. The sample consists of 400 students from the 2nd and 3rd cycle, aged between 11 and 15 years, of the General Serpa Pinto School in Cinfães. The instruments used were the Aggression among School Children in Space, Self-Esteem Rosenberg Scale and Children's Depression Inventory (CDI). It was found that the subjects of bullying victims have low self-esteem, depression, are mostly female and belong to a lower social stratum. The bullying prevention in these age groups is an urgent public health as it affects the development of these children.
