Abstract(s)
This research aims to study the population addict face the knowledge and perceptions of HIV risk and examine how psychological morbidity influences risk behaviors, aimed at contributing to a better knowledge and understanding of the dependence and its relationship with certain psychosocial variables that may play an important role in the maintenance of addiction. With a sample of 120 subjects, both male and female aged between 18 and 56 years, proceeded to carry out a descriptive, inferential and correlational, using as instruments for collecting data Dast (Drug Abuse screening Test), the range of knowledge about HIV transmission and prevention (ECTP / HIV), another scale on attitudes and other behaviors related to AIDS (ACS), BSI (Brief sympton Inventory) and a demographic questionnaire and a questionnaire clinical and risk behaviors for HIV. Next, we analyzed the relationships between the respective variables. In terms of the hypotheses sought to study whether there was a relationship between psychological morbidity and risk behaviors, and if there was a correlation between the behaviors, knowledge and perceptions of risk to HIV. The results of our research indicate that individuals with a greater involvement with drugs have more sharing behaviors and more psychopathological symptoms. We conclude our investigation with an interpretation of these results.
