Com a era digital e o surgimento diário de novas tendências, o mundo dos negócios enfrenta, atualmente mudanças dramáticas. Inseridos na Europa, que funciona como um mercado único, com 28 países representando 20% do volume das exportações e importações mundiais, estamos num ponto de viragem com o aparecimento das novas tecnologias, sendo a indústria do retalho uma das mais afetadas por estes tempos de mudança e incerteza.
Com este estudo pretendeu-se avaliar a importância desta indústria em Portugal, tendo-se revelado economicamente significativa e em crescimento substancial. Consequentemente, dado o seu peso macroeconómico, o objetivo primordial do trabalho realizado consistiu em perceber o reconhecimento dos termos Internet of Things e Analytic of Things assim como o seu nível de implementação por parte do retalho nacional.
Para averiguar estas questões, foram recolhidos dados de fontes estatísticas como o INE, PORDATA, Banco de Portugal, APED, Euler Hermes, entre outras. Para uma avaliação mais específica, foram desenvolvidas entrevistas e aplicadas a quatro empresas do setor retalhista, sendo estas Central Lobão, Aveleda, Casa Alves e Intermarché
As principais conclusões foram que Portugal se encontra num período de crescimento económico assim como o setor do retalho. Existe a consciencialização por parte das empresas portuguesas sobre a importância e pertinência na adoção das tecnologias IoT nas suas estratégias de negócio, no entanto visto que estamos inseridos num mercado nacional muito ainda liderado por pequenas empresas e pequenos retalhistas, estes não adotaram nem pretendem adotar num futuro próximo estas tecnologias.
With the digital age and the daily emergence of new trends, the business world is currently facing dramatic changes. Inserted in Europe, which operates as a single market, with 28 countries accounting for 20% of world exports and imports, we are at a turning point with the emergence of new technologies, with the retail industry being one of the most affected by these times of change and uncertainty. The aim of this study was to evaluate the importance of this industry in Portugal, having shown to be economically significant and in substantial growth. Consequently, given its macroeconomic weight, the primary objective of the work was to recognize the recognition of the terms Internet of Things and Analytic of Things as well as its level of implementation by the national retail. In order to investigate these questions, data were collected from statistical sources such as INE, PORDATA, Banco de Portugal, APED, Euler Hermes, among others. For a more specific evaluation, interviews were conducted and applied to four companies in the retail sector, these being Central Lobão, Aveleda, Casa Alves and Intermarché The main conclusions were: The main conclusions were that Portugal is in a period of economic growth, as is the retail sector.
