By exploring the subject of access to justice and fundamental rights for indigenous peoples in Africa, as well as the role of humanitarian aid, this paper aims to shed light on the issues faced by these communities and propose strategies for their empowerment and well-being. It analyses the historical context, legal frameworks, and socio-cultural factors that affect indigenous communities. By analyzing case studies and best practices, this study targets to identify effective ways for empowering indigenous peoples and ensuring that their rights are upheld. Notwithstanding the implementation of international HR standards in a multilateral context with international courts such as the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda or the UN HRC among other international judicial systems; only the regional judicial systems will be analyzed in this paper, as the goal of this discussion is regarding the impact of its jurisprudence on African indigenous peoples’ fundamental rights.pt_PT
