Nesta pesquisa, procurar-se-á uma reflexão focada numa prática milenar que é a
peregrinação. Numa sociedade que se declara laica, onde a religião parece viver uma
decadência, perdendo as massas que outrora tinha, ainda há milhares de pessoas que
optam por se deslocar a pé aos santuários em forma de peregrinação, ou pelo menos
assumindo alguns dos contornos das tradicionais peregrinações. Que quer dizer isto à
religião? Como acontece a peregrinação cristã nos nossos dias? As pessoas vão a pé pela
devoção que têm a um santo, ou têm outras motivações? O que leva os peregrinos a
deslocarem-se a pé a S. Bento da Porta Aberta? Na verdade, este trabalho pretende refletir
sobre esta prática de piedade popular que é simultaneamente tão antiga e atual,
procurando abordar primeiramente uma dimensão mais antropológica da caminhada, para
refletir sobre a peregrinação enquanto experiência de fé, concluindo com a análise da
peregrinação realizada a S. Bento da Porta Aberta.
In this research, we will seek a reflection focused on an ancient millennial practice that is the pilgrimage. In a society that declares itself to be secular, where religion seems to be decaying, losing the masses it once had, there are still thousands of people who choose to walk to the shrines in the form of pilgrimage, or at least taking on some of the outlines of traditional pilgrimages. What does this mean to religion? How does Christian pilgrimage occur today? Do people walk by their devotion to a saint, or do they have other motivations? What makes pilgrims go to S. Bento da Porta Aberta? In fact, this work intends to reflect on this practice of popular piety that is both so old and current, seeking first an approach more anthropological dimension of the walk, to reflect on pilgrimage as an experience of faith, concluding with the analysis of the pilgrimage to S. Bento da Porta Aberta.
