Abstract(s)
In the current reality characterized by a strong market dymamic, there is an increasing tendency for companies to cost savings and productivity improvement, in order to survive and succeed. Rather than the available offer for the client, the companies started to operate on their process optimization so that they can respond to the needs of their clients, in a quick and appropriate way. This report was based on the implementation of a process management tool, covered by the concept of Business Process Management (BPM), on the invoice approval processes in the Accounting and Management Control department of DESFO group. Despite being processes to support the normal activities of DESFO group companies, their existence contributes to the compliance with payment deadlines to suppliers, with an impact on the business performance. The work was developed to understand the influence of this tool in the existent processes improvement, namely the response given to the elements identified by the senior group management as inefficiency enablers. To this end, an organization and process framework was made, and then a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results obtained with the implementation of that tool. The outcome of this work enables us to verify the IT capabilities for the process management, namely in terms of the central departments of an organization.
