This applied research analyzes the process of inserting Brazilian music into the Portuguese market over the past seven years (2017-2025), focusing on the dynamics of cultural circulation, digital expansion, and professional practices. Using a qualitative and exploratory approach, the study seeks to answer: what are the main challenges and opportunities faced by Brazilian music professionals in Portugal? Which factors drive or limit this circulation? What roles do digital platforms, cultural policies, and sector agents play in this process? Grounded in a literature review with social and anthropological perspectives, the investigation integrates quantitative and qualitative data from reports by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) and the paid platform Viberate, alongside semi-structured interviews with artists, producers, programmers, and managers. The study also examines the increase in investments in the performing arts sector in Portugal, with a focus on music internationalization, as well as funding mechanisms promoted by DGArtes and cooperation initiatives with Brazil, such as Ibermúsicas. Among the main findings, the study highlights the significant increase in Brazilian music consumption on digital platforms in Portugal, especially after 2020 4 under the strong influence of the COVID-19 pandemic 4 along with the growing presence of Brazilian artists in festivals, public spaces, and daily urban life. The study finds that music consumption in Portugal does not directly reflect the Brazilian mainstream nor is it solely driven by diaspora dynamics: the country presents its own reception patterns, shaped by local curatorship, media, and listening habits. The research also identifies persistent challenges, such as logistical, institutional, and symbolic barriers, but also points to collaborative practices, support networks, and expanding creative strategies. Based on these findings and testimonies, the study positions itself as an applied pre-project by proposing practical solutions such as the development of a collaborative digital platform, professionalization tools, and institutional articulation strategies. By offering concrete insights for public policies, cultural circuits, and management models, this research aims to strengthen sustainable cultural bridges between Brazil and Portugal, positioning music as a strategic vector of belonging, innovation, and social transformation.
