Abstract(s)
The theme of universal peace was chosen for my Supervised Teaching Practice (STE). Throughout the classes given on this subject, it was important to understand how much the students are interested in issues of peace, not only in terms of their approach as defined by the 7 th grade EMRC programme, but also within a pedagogical approach that linked the theme and everyday experiences in each student life, making them understand that the idea of universal peace only makes sense if glimpsed from a daily and very personal experience of it. The theme of Universal Peace is fundamental to be explored, discussed, addressed with students in their school journey. It would be desirable for it to constitute a true subject to be discussed at all levels of education and it is suggested that it should be taught as an initial theme, introducing the discipline of EMRC and as a way of preparing the school environment itself for a peaceful coexistence. However, universal peace, which in the view of the students is like a utopia that is difficult to pursue, only makes sense if approached from a perspective that contextualizes it in their daily lives, allowing an understanding that brings them to practice it and experience it in the school environment. and from there on, to the social relationships of the students. It is intended to offer students, in a consistent and very real way, not only the theoretical discussion of the theme of peace, but also to give them instruments that allows them to learn and experience peace as a reality to be built in their social environment, particularly at school. Learning to resolve conflicts of everyday life, as experienced by each one, is the best learning strategy that can be offered to students. The creation in the school environment of a space for dialogue, spontaneous and voluntary, for solving concrete problems, helps students to consolidate learning about peace as a serene option and to apply it in their daily lives and in their school relationships and others. The conflict mediation process is the space that completes class discussions on the theme of peace and offers the experience of peace with practical and effective effects in the lives of our students, giving the subject of EMRC an effective practical capacity to help students and the community.
