This study aimed to investigate the extent to which portuguese patients are willing to share real-time health data in order to receive feedback and modify health-related behaviors. Using a quantitative methodology and a digital survey (n=216), five hypotheses were tested, relating to concerns about security and privacy, generational differences, the presence of chronic conditions, and the frequency of digital technology use. To this end, IBM SPSS Statistics software was employed to conduct statistical tests, including correlations, ANOVAs, and t-tests. Unexpectedly, it was found that users’ concerns about security and privacy are positively associated with information disclosure, a finding that can be interpreted in light of the “privacy paradox.” Although age did not emerge as a predominant factor, younger respondents demonstrated greater openness to digitally sharing health data. The presence of chronic conditions does not appear to be a determining factor for data sharing, with individuals’ self-assessment of their health status playing a more decisive role. Conversely, the continuous use of digital health monitoring technologies was found to positively influence the willingness to share data. Despite methodological limitations, the findings suggest that there are favorable conditions for the digitalization of healthcare, provided that investments are made in security, education, and technological inclusion.
