| dc.description.abstract | O Childbirth Self-efficacy Inventory (CBSEI) é um questionário que permite testar a auto-eficácia da grávida no parto. Foi criada por Nancy Lowe em 1993 e é um instrumento, testado nos Estados Unidos, para aferir a confiança da mulher durante o trabalho de parto, tendo como referencial teórico, a Teoria da Auto-Eficácia de Albert Bandura (1986). O principal objectivo deste estudo foi efectuar a adaptação transcultural e a validação para português deste instrumento. Para tal, efectuou-se um estudo exploratório, descritivo, com metodologia quantitativa, no Centro Hospitalar do Porto (CHP), nos serviços de internamento e consulta de obstetrícia. A amostra constituiu-se por 310 grávidas, que recorreram aos serviços de obstetrícia do CHP, no período de Setembro a Dezembro de 2009 e que aceitaram participar no estudo. Após se terem seguido os procedimentos propostos pela autora, o CBSEI revelou ser um instrumento fiável e válido na medição da confiança expressa pelas grávidas, apresentando um alpha de Cronbach que varia entre 0,89 e 0,95. Em cada uma das fases de trabalho de parto ficou confirmada a distinção entre expectativas de auto-eficácia e expectativas de resultado. | dc.description.abstract | The CBSEI - Childbirth Self-efficacy Inventory - is inventory that allows you to test self-efficacy for pregnant women in childbirth. It was created by Nancy Lowe in 1993 and is a reliable and valid instrument that was tested in the United States to gauge the confidence of the woman during labor, which used the reference of the Theory of Self-Efficacy by Bandura (1986) and following the methodology of Likert scale. The main objective of this research was to make the cultural adaptation and validation for Portuguese. For this study was carried out exploratory descriptive and quantitative methodology. to assess the validity of the Portuguese version of the CBSEI. To this end, the study was conducted in the Hospital of Porto (CHP) in obstetrical service. The study population consisted of 310 pregnant women who used to obstetric services from the CHP in the period September to December 2009, and accepted to participate in the study. After have followed the procedures proposed by the author the CBSEI proved to be a reliable and valid instrument to measure the confidence expressed by pregnant, has a Cronbach´s Alph ranging from 0,89 and 0,95. At each stage of labor was confirmed the distinction between expectation of self-efficacy and outcome expectation.
