Nesta investigação analisa-se a importância de desenvolver programas que
desenvolvam competências de inteligência emocional em contexto escolar, com
jovens, tendo como principal objetivo identificar os elementos essenciais a considerar
aquando a criação e implementação de um programa deste âmbito.
A tese remete para um quadro conceptual que permite aprofundar e compreender
como um jovem pode atingir elevados níveis de bem-estar e de proteção, quando as
suas competências de inteligência emocional estão bem desenvolvidas.
As entrevistas realizadas, a coordenadores de programas escolares de inteligência
emocional, permitiram identificar os factores que levam ao sucesso da implementação
dos mesmo. Destacam-se: a utilização das diferentes dimensões da inteligência
emocional; a relação que se estabelece entre o aplicador e o jovem; o envolvimento da
família; a metodologia utilizada; e a flexibilidade.

The key objective is to identify the essential elements to be considered when creating and implementing programs of this type. The thesis refers to a conceptual framework that allows to deepen and understand how a young person can achieve high levels of well-being and protection, whilst emotional intelligence skills are well employed.
