Abstract(s)
transição e a adaptação. Vários autores (cf. Fonseca, 2005; Fernández-Ballesteros, 2006;
The Life Swings project, carried out within the scope of the Masters in Social Work, specializing in the fields of Entrepreneurship and Innovation of the Social Economy, at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, aims to present an answer proposal in the context of the transition to retirement, with the purpose of promoting welfare, meaning and purpose in this stage of people's lives. Progressing to retirement is a complex process made of two big moments: the transition and adaptation. Many authors (cf. Fonseca, 2005; Fernández-Ballesteros, 2006; Fonseca, 2011) highlight the relationship between the transition to retirement and the quality of the aging process, as well as the benefits and importance of preparing and planning this transition. Not necessarily being a social problem, the way this transition is experienced can trigger outcomes of vulnerability, isolation, loneliness and social exclusion. The presented proposal consists of consulting services and personalized monitoring for the transition to retirement, aiming to answer the difficulties and obstacles related to this process, particularly not preparing and not planning it. The main results, obtained through the processes of listening and literature review, contributed to establish the key elements for developing an answer in the context of the transition to retirement, supporting the proposal that is presented. Life Swings aims to offer people the space and necessary conditions in order to see this new life stage as an opportunity to give life a new meaning, reconnect or rediscover themselves, recover older dreams, make their dreams come true, or simply enjoying what makes them happy and the projects they have. Thus, it proposes to develop monitoring and counseling services, preparation and planning, consulting services, namely financial, as well as promoting coaching and workshops for dealing with the transition to retirement.
