The human resource management represents a topic that is increasingly addressed as a relevant practice for running a business. It is believed that the efficient management of human capital has significantly positive impacts in the medium and long term for the success of a hotel. This study aims to analyze the extent to which human resource management practices are related to the successful implementation of innovations in a hotel. The focus on innovation is considered a requirement from the perspective of the market, competition and the needs of guests. This study becomes relevant since, in the human resources literature, there is little investment in the concept of innovation as an organizational strategy. Thus, it is important to understand that the participation of human capital in innovation strategies is a big step towards their success. This study has as main objective to investigate the importance that practices such as recruitment, integration, reception, training, empowerment, motivation and compensation policies have for the success of the implementation of an innovation in a hotel. In order to investigate how hotels see this theme and apply it, qualitative data were collected, through interviews with general managers of hotels, as well as with human resources managers. The collected data was analyzed using the NVivo software. The main results show that the hotels are concerned with investing in the various dimensions analyzed, however, with regard to the integration of these practices with innovation, there is still some delay, which is why it is necessary to create dynamic processes in the mentioned areas.
