Abstract(s)
O aumento da esperança média de vida, bem como o aumento das doenças crónicas progressivas e incapacitantes têm vindo a constituir um novo desafio para os sistemas de saúde. Adicionalmente, a combinação de fatores físicos, psicológicos, sociais e espirituais em fase terminal de vida, aumenta a complexidade do sofrimento e, consequentemente, das necessidades de intervenção neste contexto, o que requer uma abordagem multi e interdisciplinar que aglomere as necessidades identificadas no núcleo do doente-família, por parte dos profissionais de saúde, que devem ser detentores de formação específica nesta área. Deste modo, a prestação de Cuidados Paliativos, requer que os serviços de saúde se organizem de forma a prestar cuidados com qualidade, no local privilegiado para o doente, com profissionais capacitados, que promovam a dignidade do doente, e considerem a família, no decurso da sua intervenção. Neste âmbito, a aluna estagiou numa Unidade Local de Saúde, como parte integrante do seu Mestrado em Cuidados Paliativos, de forma a desenvolver competências técnicas, profissionais e pessoais nesta área. O principal objetivo deste trabalho foi focar a sua atenção no modo como se organizam e prestam os cuidados domiciliários, de forma a desenvolver uma proposta de projeto para a implementação de uma Equipa Comunitária de Suporte em Cuidados Paliativos no Agrupamento de Centros de Saúde (ACES) de Guimarães-Vizela-O Basto, tal como definido na legislação. A realização deste estágio proporcionou-me o conhecimento, metodologia e motivação para as bases da proposta de implementação dos serviços domiciliários em Cuidados Paliativos no ACES de Guimarães-Vizela-O Basto onde a aluna exerce actividade.
The increase of the years of life as well as the increase of progressive and incapacitating chronic diseases have been a new challenge for the health system. In addition, the combination of physical, psychological and social symptoms, in terminal patients, increase the complexity of their pains and, consequently, increase of requirements for intervention in this context, which demands a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach. Health professionals, who should have training in this field, should considerate patient and family needs. For the health system is a challenge deal with these patients, so, it is necessary a good organization in Palliative Care; with a good organization, health system should be capable to lend care with high quality, in the place where the patients choose, with capable professionals, who will promote a dignity of the patient, considering the family on the process of their intervention. This way, the student did the internship in a Local Health Unit, as part of her Master Degree in Palliative Care, in order to develop technical, professional and personal skills. The main objective of this study was focus on the way how this unit work, because we deserve to develop a proposal for a project to start a unit of Palliative Home Care in ACES Guimarães-Vizela-O Basto, as defined in the law.
