Abstract(s)
No âmbito da Ética e da Filosofia Política, o principal objetivo desta Dissertação de Mestrado prendeu-se com a investigação sobre a problemática do genocídio alemão, a qual foi orientada no sentido de se alcançar uma compreensão satisfatória, assim como argumentos que sustentassem a tese de que este crime contra a humanidade se tratou de um ato horrendo e complexo do século XX.
A metodologia aplicada nesta investigação científica foi o estudo do pensamento da filósofa política, Hannah Arendt, uma vez que foi pela análise das obras desta autora que a compreensão do genocídio alemão se tornou visível e compreensível, dentro dos limites do inteligível, mas também foi através desta investigação que surgiram os argumentos que suportaram a tese desta dissertação de mestrado, a explicação de que esta problemática foi um ato horrendo do século XX.
Esta investigação científica elucidou esta problemática e demonstrou que o genocídio alemão foi possível porque a condição humana permitiu que tal totalitarismo se afirmasse na Alemanha, assim como consentiu que o extermínio destas pessoas tivesse acontecido, por isso, o perigo estava na trivialidade com que estes homens encaravam a vida daqueles que exterminaram.
As far as Ethics and Political Philosophy are concerned, the main objective of this Master´s Thesis was related to the research on the problem of German genocide, which was geared towards achieving a satisfactory understanding, as well as arguments that sustain the thesis that this crime against humanity was a horrendous and complex act of the twentieth century. The methodology applied in this scientific research was the study of thinking of the political philosopher, Hannah Arendt, as it was due to the analysis of the works of this author that the understanding of the German genocide became visible and comprehensible within the limits of the intelligible, but it was also through this research that came the arguments that supported the thesis of this dissertation, the explanation that this issue was a horrendous act of the twentieth century. This scientific research has elucidated this issue and demonstrated that the German genocide was possible because the human condition allowed such totalitarianism to be claimed in Germany, and consented the extermination of these people to happen, so the danger was in the triviality with which these men regarded the lives of those they had exterminated.
