Ao longo dos últimos anos, as empresas têm vindo a dar uma maior importância ao inventário e à sua gestão, pois é com base nesta grande área que se efetuam os principais investimentos de uma entidade e os desafios para tentar reduzir custos como forma de obter uma maior receita e, ao mesmo tempo, entregar a melhor qualidade de serviço e satisfação do cliente (Wallin et al., 2006). O presente estudo trata do controlo de stocks na empresa Nortempera - Indústria de Vidros Temperados do Norte, S.A., uma empresa portuguesa inserida na indústria de transformação e comercialização de vidro plano. Os principais objetivos do estágio realizado nesta organização consistiram em apoiar o controlo de gestão com um princípio de organização mais eficiente relativamente aos stocks e oferecer soluções sobre a informação atualizada do stock em armazém que não estava disponível. De forma a atingir os objetivos do estágio foi inicialmente desenvolvido um diagnóstico com base em observação direta, reuniões e extração de dados informáticos, que conjuntamente permitiram identificar os principais problemas existentes que dificultavam o conhecimento expedito e regular das grandezas anteriormente mencionadas. Após a realização de testes e da análise de processos internos, foram desenvolvidas novas ferramentas de controlo que passaram a permitir identificar com fiabilidade o stock real e disponível, e foram aplicados controlos de forma a monitorizar e evitar desvios no inventário. Em suma, o estágio realizado atingiu os seus objetivos e permitiu além disso rever processos de trabalho e promover novos mecanismos de controlo conducentes à boa gestão dos stocks da organização.
Over the last few years, companies have been providing highest importance on inventory and its management, as it is based on this big area that the main investments of an entity are performed and has been challenging to try to reduce costs in order to obtain a higher revenue and, at the same time, deliver the best service quality and customer satisfaction (Wallin et al., 2006). This study is about stock control in the company Nortempera – Indústria de Vidros Temperados do Norte, S.A., a Portuguese company included in the flat glass transformation and commercialization industry. The main objectives of the internship performed within this organization were to support the management control with a more efficient organization principle concerning the stocks and offer solutions related with updated information of the stock in warehouse that was not available. In order to achieve the goals of the internship, a diagnostic was initially developed based on direct observation, meetings and the extraction of computer data, that together allowed to identify the main existing problems that made difficult the smart and regular knowledge of the aforementioned topics. After performing tests and analysis of internal process, new control tools were developed that allow reliably identify the real and available stock, and controls were applied in order to monitor and avoid deviations in inventory. In summary, the internship achieved its objectives and it also allowed to review work processes and to promote new conductive control mechanisms to the good organization stocks management.
