O Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem Médico- Cirúrgica é uma ferramenta primordial para a aquisição de níveis elevados de pensamento crítico e tomada de decisão, através do desenvolvimento de competências específicas que visam melhorar os cuidados de enfermagem prestados ao doente adulto em situação crítica e/ou falência orgânica e à sua família. Para o desenvolvimento destas competências, foram fundamentais os estágios na Unidade Cuidados Intensivos Cardiotorácica, Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos Polivalente e Serviço de Urgência. Com este documento pretendo fornecer um relato global, conciso e coerente das atividades desenvolvidas e vivências ao longo dos períodos de estágio; demonstrar capacidade crítica e reflexiva desenvolvida com o discurso utilizado face às inúmeras experiências, confrontos de ideias, saberes e reflexões pessoais; documentar a aprendizagem efetuada e demonstrar as competências adquiridas/desenvolvidas no Mestrado em Enfermagem e os seus contributos enquanto Enfermeira Especialista em Enfermagem Médico Cirúrgica. Por fim, serve, ainda, como instrumento para obtenção do grau de mestre. Utilizando uma metodologia crítico-reflexiva, dividi o trabalho em três partes: Introdução, Desenvolvimento e Conclusão. No que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento, encontra-se organizado pelos diferentes domínios comuns do Enfermeiro Especialista: da responsabilidade profissional, ética e legal; da melhoria contínua da qualidade; da gestão dos cuidados; e com especial abordagem do desenvolvimento de aprendizagens profissionais, refletindo sobre e referindo os diferentes contextos de estágio. Como contributos específicos das aprendizagens desenvolvi na Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos Polivalente um “Manual de Acolhimento para o Estudante” e uma revisão bibliográfica sobre a temática da dor intitulada “Avaliação da dor associada a meios complementares de avaliação no doente em Cuidados Intensivos”. Além disso, no Serviço de Urgência, aperfeiçoando as caraterísticas do acolhimento e integração no serviço realizei, também, um “Manual de Acolhimento para o Estudante - Serviço de Urgência Médico Cirúrgica” e um projeto de melhoria da qualidade no âmbito da transição de cuidados: “Comunicação na Passagem de Turno do Serviço de Urgência – Revisão Bibliográfica”. Os trabalhos permitiram o autoconhecimento e reflexão bem como contribuíram para o crescimento, desenvolvimento e consolidação das competências comuns e específicas definidas pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros.
The Master's Course in Nursing with Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing is a primary strategy for the acquisition of high levels of critical thinking and decision making, through the development of specific skills that aim to improve the nursing care provided to adult patients in critical situations and / or organic bankruptcy and his family, along the different stages, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit, Polyvalent Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Service. With this document, I intend to provide a global, concise and coherent report of the activities developed and experiences throughout the internship periods; demonstrate critical and reflective skills developed in view of the countless experiences, confrontations of ideas, knowledge and personal reflections; document the learning made and demonstrate the skills acquired / developed in the Master in Nursing and the contributions as a Specialist Nurse in Medical Surgical Nursing. Finally, it also serves as an instrument to obtain the master's degree. Using a critical-reflective methodology, I divided the work into three parts: Introduction, Development and Conclusion. The development is organized in the different common areas of the Specialist Nurse: professional, ethical and legal responsibility; continuous quality improvement; care management; and with a special approach to the development of professional learning, reflecting on and referring to the different internship contexts. As my specific contributions to learning, I developed in the Polyvalent Intensive Care Unit "Reception Manual for the Student" and a bibliography review on the theme of pain: “Assessment of pain associated with complementary means of assessment in the patient in Intensive Care”, and finally, in the Emergency Service, improving the characteristics of reception and integration in the service, I also carried out a “Reception Manual for the Student - Medical Surgical Emergency Service ”and a quality improvement project within the scope of the care transition“ Communication during the shift change of the Emergency Service - Bibliographic Review ”. The investigation allowed self-knowledge and reflection as well as contributed to the growth, development and consolidation of the competences defined by the Order of Nurses.
