Abstract(s)
Within the scope of the Internship Curricular Unit with Report of the Master's Course in Nursing, of the Specialization Area in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the scope of the Person in Crítical Situation, of the Institute of Health Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University of Lisbon, it was suggested the elaboration of a report. Its purpose is to expose the performance of activities and strategies, clarifying the acquisition of specialized skills over the last semester in the provision of care to the crítically ill and family, taking into account the phenomenon under study, resulting from the contexts carried out in the internship modules within the scope of extra-hospital and in the Intensive Care Unit. I am daily faced with doubts, uncertainties and difficulties in communicating bad news, thus emerging the need to acquire specific skills in communicating bad news to the PSC and family, with the theme: "Strategies and Management of Communication of Bad News to the Person in Crítical Situation and Family”. The theoretical framework chosen to support this report was the Uncertainty Theory of the disease Merle Mishel (1981). The trajectory of this report made it possible to reach and gather skills in the aforementioned theme in order to reach the level of expertise in the area, namely technical and relational skills.
