Abstract(s)
A Escola é um veículo, por excelência, de transmissão de conhecimentos e
competências. É neste sentido que podemos reiterar o papel fundamental que a Escola
desempenha no percurso de cada pessoa, de cada aluno, no processo de
ensino/aprendizagem e em diversas vertentes, como ao nível de justiça social, da
igualdade, da solidariedade e de princípios sociais e éticos. A Escola prepara os jovens
para desempenharem um papel ativo na sociedade, promovendo o seu desenvolvimento
global, mas sempre respeitando as diferenças.
Neste sentido, este trabalho tem como principal objetivo avaliar a forma como a Escola
integra a educação de crianças e jovens com Multideficiência e as prepara para a Vida.
No presente relatório, aborda-se assim a temática da inclusão de crianças e jovens com
Multideficiência, através da análise mais pormenorizada de um estudo de caso: um
aluno com Perturbação do Espectro do Autismo e Síndrome Alcoólico Fetal.
Abordamos metodologias e estratégias de intervenção, formas de promover a integração
e o consequente impacto no sucesso escolar.
Apresentamos uma abordagem à evolução histórica da Educação Especial e uma
reflexão sobre o tema “Escola Inclusiva”. Fazemos ainda uma apresentação do nosso
percurso profissional enquanto docente de Educação Especial. É igualmente feita a
fundamentação teórica em relação ao tema estudado, onde são abordados os vários
conceitos envolvidos: Incapacidade Intelectual, Perturbações do Espectro do Autismo,
Síndrome Alcoólico Fetal e Multideficiência. Posteriormente é realizada uma análise
mais concreta do estudo de caso, dá-se a conhecer o perfil de funcionalidade do aluno
em questão, assim como do seu contexto social e respetivo Plano de Intervenção.
Finalmente são apresentadas conclusão ao trabalho, com um cunho de reflexões, não
podendo deixar de remeter para algumas perspetivas futuras.
The School represents one of the main sources for the acquisition of knowledge and competencies. And by that reason, we can reaffirm the fundamental role that School plays in each person and in each student pathway. Regarding the teaching-learning process, School plays its part in several dimensions, namely regarding social justice, equality, solidarity and social and ethical principles. School prepares our youths, so that they become able to play an active role in society, by promoting their development globally and respecting the differences between people. Regarding that, this work aims to evaluate the way School educate and integrate children and youths with Multiple Disabilities and prepare them for Life. At this report, we will exploit the topic of Inclusive School for children with Multiple Disabilities, by analyzing in detail a study case: a young student with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. We also approach the intervention methodologies and strategies, the way to promote the integration of these students within regular classes and the consequent impact on their educational success. We present an overview to the history and evolution of Special Education and some thoughts on “Inclusive School”, regarding students with Special Educational Needs. We additionally present our professional pathway as a Special Education Teacher and we present the theoretical contents underlying the main topics and contents related to the study aim: Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Multiple Disability. Then, we analyze in dept a study case, we show the functionality profile of that student and his social context in order to achieve an adequate Intervention Plan. In the end of this report some conclusions are taken and also some future perspectives are presented.
