With the emergence of new technologies and digital media, where societies are united through networks, in which the transport of messages is facilitated, faster and more centralized to a larger audience, almost every sphere of our society took the chance to broaden the environment where they already operated into this new digital world. Politics was one of them. Now more than ever, political parties create profiles on social networks and use them to communicate with their voters, in a more informal way, which allows them to reach a new, larger and influential group of voters. In addition, digital communication opens up discussions and forums for political debate, in which messages are replicated and, in a way, intensified. The scope of this dissertation is to evaluate the impact that the use of social networks by the political parties Iniciativa Liberal and CHEGA had in the last legislative election of 2022 in the district of Setúbal, where each of them managed to elect a deputy for the first time. In light of this, the results obtained in the present investigation show that, although there is a connection between the two themes, it is still the traditional media and other classic political practices, such as congresses, that are the main motivators of votes. However, it is clear that a presence on social networks and a frequency in publications is positive, as it helps to share the message with a younger audience that is often not interested in political life, not even in making decisions that affect it.
