- Probióticos : uma abordagem integrada entre a saúde cerebral, o bem-estar emocial e a sustentabilidade ambientalPublication . Leite, Inês Caiano Pereira; Silva, Clédna Patrícia de Oliveira; Pinto, Elisabete Cristina BastosO presente estudo pretendeu explorar o impacto do consumo de probióticos, neste caso a Kombucha, ao nível da frequência cardíaca e do bem-estar psicológico (ansiedade, depressão e stress). Além disso, pretendeu também avaliar a relação entre o consumo de probióticos e as preocupações ambientais dos consumidores. Neste estudo participaram 93 participantes, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 38 anos. Os participantes foram testados antes e após os 30 dias do consumo de Kombucha. Os resultados demonstraram que não existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre a frequência cardíaca antes e após o consumo de Kombucha. Contudo, os resultados demonstraram que existem diferenças estatisticamente significativas na perceção do bem-estar psicológico antes e após o consumo de Kombucha. No que concerne à relação entre o consumo de probióticos e as preocupações ambientais dos consumidores, apenas foi verificada uma associação estatisticamente significativa entre o consumo de iogurtes probióticos e o nível de preocupação sobre o impacto social, ético e ambiental da indústria dos alimentos. O presente estudo contribuiu para o aumento do conhecimento sobre o consumo de probióticos e de Kombucha e alertou para a importância deste tema para a promoção da saúde em geral e da sustentabilidade.
- Validation of the Nurse-Parent Support Tool scale for Portuguese culture: reliability and validityPublication . Antunes, Ana Luisa Ramos; Festas, Constança; Quelhas, Isabel; Almeida, Sofia Pinto deBackground: Assessing the perceptions of parents of hospitalized children about the support provided by nurses can contribute to assessing the quality of pediatric nursing care. Objective: To complete the cultural adaptation and validation of the Nurse-Parent Support Tool (NPST) for the Portuguese population by assessing its reliability and validity. Methodology: Quantitative methodological study, with a sample of 291 parents of hospitalized children. The psychometric properties of the instrument were measured by assessing its reliability using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient and its construct validity through exploratory factor analysis with Varimax rotation. Results: The psychometric characteristics of the NPST show that it is appropriate to the Portuguese population of parents of hospitalized children (Cronbach’s alpha of 0.925), as well as a reliable and valid tool to measure the support provided by nurses to these parents. Conclusion: The European Portuguese version of the NPST - Escala de Apoio dos Enfermeiros aos Pais (EAEP) - is a reliable and valid instrument with very good internal consistency to assess the support provided by nurses to parents during a child’s hospitalization.

De facto, a certeza de que Jesus Cristo permanece com os homens através do mistério da Transubstanciação, nas aparências humildes do pão e do vinho, faz com que São Tomás compreenda que a união com Cristo no Sacramento é uma união com Cristo ressuscitado tal como está no Céu. Esta união com a Presença Real de Cristo conjuga diversos elementos para que a comunhão sacramental seja uma verdadeira comunhão espiritual com Jesus. A fé unida à caridade e a devoção são características fundamentais de uma comunhão sacramental e espiritual que consiste, justamente, na união íntima do fiel com Cristo.
- The A.I. revolution : evaluating impact and consequences in copywritingPublication . Provasi, Veronica; Duarte, António Alexandre de OliveiraThe dawn of artificial intelligence (A.I.) foreshadows the beginning of a transformative era and prepares a profound societal shift, as witnessed in the past with historical technological innovations. As A.I. continues to rise, its implications on content creation become more significant daily, but its impact on copywriting remains an unexplored area in the literature. This Internship Report delves into the understanding of the impact of A.I. on copywriting, aiming to determine the ability of social media users to distinguish AI-generated content from human-crafted prose.Undertaking a mixed-methods approach, this study combines the depth of qualitative insights from focus group discussions with the breadth of quantitative data from an experimental design. While the quantitative experiment offers an overview of participants' discernment capabilities, the focus group discussions provide a nuanced understanding of the underlying biases, perceptions, and emotions influencing their judgments.Results indicate a discord in discernment skill based on the specific content pairs presented, with no overarching consensus on A.I.'s detectability, signifying how A.I. can be recognized if used by inexperienced hands but, if used as a tool correctly, cannot be recognized. Interestingly, participants with a writing background demonstrated a higher accuracy rate, though other variables had minimal impact. The experiment revealed that participants consistently underestimated A.I.'s capabilities, highlighting a gap between perceived and actual discernment abilities.This research aimed to contribute to the nascent literature on A.I.'s role in copywriting, emphasizing the need for a holistic understanding that integrates the technological prowess of A.I. and the intricate human factors influencing content perception.
- Cuidado especializado no âmbito da prevenção e controlo de infeção à pessoa em situação crítica e famíliaPublication . Carvalho, Ana Carla Nascimento dos Santos Dias de; Ribeiro, Patrícia Cruz Pontífice Sousa ValenteO presente Relatório surge no âmbito da unidade curricular Estágio e Relatório, inserido no 15º Curso de Mestrado em Enfermagem com Especialização em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Instituto Ciências da Saúde. O objetivo é descrever o percurso de aquisição e desenvolvimento de Competências do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, através de uma metodologia descritiva e crítico-reflexiva sobre as atividades desenvolvidas. No contexto pré-hospitalar, Serviço de VMER, o desenvolvimento de competências na área de cuidados de pré-hospitalar envolveu a realização de cuidados a pessoas em situação crítica tais como: participação em emergências médicas, e transporte de doentes, crescimento de aptidões na comunicação com o doente e família e na segurança do doente e profissionais de saúde. Foi possível contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade dos cuidados prestados, no “conforto da família através da intervenção do enfermeiro na transmissão das más noticias em contexto de Urgência e Emergência.” No contexto do Programa de prevenção e controlo de infeção e resistências aos microbianos foram desenvolvidas de aptidões a nível da prevenção e controlo da infeção como parte integrante da comissão de controlo de infeções e resistências aos antimicrobianos, realizando auditorias neste âmbito. A realização de uma Scoping Review - “Medidas de prevenção e controlo de infeção cruzada por MRSA em contexto hospitalar” veio desocultar a evidência científica nesta área. Concluído o percurso considera-se que foram desenvolvidas competências de enfermeiro especialista e julga-se futuramente ser capaz de prestar cuidados especializados na área de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, através de processos de tomada de decisão, assente na ação refletida e na prática baseada na evidência científica, que levando ao crescimento pessoal e profissional nos domínios das competências comuns do enfermeiro especialista, mas principalmente na área da prevenção e controlo de infeção.
- The art of plating : examining the influence of food presentation on brand experiencePublication . Danhauser, Réka; Fernandes, Anna Carolina Boechat ChavesThe main objective of the present dissertation was to examine the relationship between the visual presentation of food, especially in the context of brunch restaurants, and its influence on the multidimensional notion of brand experience. This research was exploratory in nature due to no solid evidence found regarding brand experience variables and food presentation; therefore, no predefined hypotheses were used, but research questions guided the study. To thoroughly understand the subject, the theoretical framework covered three main areas: the world of food and food service; the visual presentation of food; and the notion of brand experience. In order to apply the theoretical findings in a practical context, three focus group discussions were held, with the focus on one restaurant in Budapest serving as a tool for the analysis. The insights gained from these groups served as real-world examples, highlighting the intricate relationship between food presentation and brand experience. Findings revealed that food presentation plays a significant role in contemporary dining culture, shaping first impressions, guiding selections, and indicating restaurants’ commitment to quality, especially in the digital age. Moreover, the study found that food presentation enhances various dimensions of brand experience, although its impact varies: it significantly influences sensory brand experiences, mainly the visual and taste perceptions; it is less prominent in affective brand experiences, where other factors play a more crucial role; it also shapes behavioural brand experiences, encouraging photography, online sharing, and culinary exploration; and its impact on intellectual brand experiences varies, with some seeing it inspiring and others merely aesthetic. It was also suggested that plating should align with a restaurant’s character and audience, with unique styles providing a distinct edge. However, plating is just one aspect of a holistic brand experience, necessitating a multifaceted strategy for contemporary diners.
