- Comfort, well-being and quality of life: discussion of the differences and similarities among the conceptsPublication . Pinto, Sara; Fumincelli, Laís; Mazzo, Alessandra; Caldeira, Sílvia; Martins, José CarlosAim: To analyze the differences and similarities of the concepts of comfort, well-being and quality of life (QoL). Methods: Review of concept analysis research on PubMed, Cinahl (full text) and Scielo, using the search terms “Comfort”, “Well-being”, “Quality of Life” and “Concept Analysis”. Results: Eighteen studies were included. Comfort is a broader holistic concept while well-being is mainly related to psycho-spiritual dimensions. QoL reflects the individual perception of satisfaction with life.Conclusions: The concepts are not surrogate terms, but related concepts sharing common attributes. Caution should be taken in further research, particularly as regards the correct use and framing of the concepts.
- Digital technologies, learning and school: practices and perceptions of young children (under 8) and their parentsPublication . Brito, Rita; Dias, PatríciaThis article explores the practices and perceptions of young children (under 8 years old) and their families about the use of digital technologies at school and their potential for learning, as well as the articulation between formal learning at school and informal learning at home. Data was collected through activities with children and their families, and then we used qualitative content analysis to explore them. The results show that the use of digital technologies at school is more common in Primary, being rare in Preschool. However, the pedagogical potential of devices like computers and tablets is underexplored both in schools and at home. Parents consider that children under 8 are too young for using digital tools in school work and believe they are not prepared to do so yet (although children are actually tech-savvy)

Thus Mein Kampfbecame both Hitler’s and Churchill’s guide, leading them in quite opposite directions.

Gonçalves, JoãoPretende-se com este artigo conhecer e sistematizar os factores que condicionam a sustentabilidade económica e financeira das instituições de apoio a pessoas idosas e o ponto de vista dos seus dirigentes e entidades locais. A metodologia utilizada assentou na aplicação de dois questionários, um a 97 associados de instituições para pessoas idosas, outro a 138 utentes dessas instituições e entrevistados os seus dirigentes e autoridades locais. No trabalho desenvolvido constatou-se que existe um conjunto alargado de factores de sustentabilidade no domínio económico e financeiro, ressaltando os seguintes: 1) comparticipação financeira do Estado; 2) comparticipação financeira dos utentes; 3) quotização dos associados; 4) abertura a outros públicos com maior capacidade financeira;5) organização e gestão das instituições; 6) prudência no endividamento.

Gonçalves, JoãoEste artigo tem por base uma pesquisa,cujo objectivo era conhecer e sistematizar os factores que condicionam a sustentabilidade social e cultural das instituições de apoio a pessoas idosas e a perspectiva dos seus dirigentes e entidades locais.Foi usada uma metodologia mista, tendo sido aplicados dois questionários, um a 97 associados de instituições para pessoas idosas; outro a 138 utentes dessas instituições e entrevistados os seus dirigentes e autoridades locais. A pesquisa demonstrou que existe um conjunto alargado de factores de sustentabilidade nos domínios social e cultural, sendo os principais os seguintes: necessidades de apoio social;adequação dos serviços às necessidades; participação da sociedade civil; capacitação das instituições;satisfação geral dos utentes; relevância das instituições; garantia do respeito pela diferença cultural.

Ribeiro, Nelson Costa; Resende, FilipeNos últimos anos, a produção de conteúdos para múltiplas plataformas passou a ser uma realidade na maioria das redações, estabelecendo novos métodos e práticas de trabalho.No presente artigo, procura-se perceber como esta modernização está a ser operacionalizadanas redações de imprensa portuguesa, focando as alterações verificadas nas rotinas de produção e o modocomo os jornalistas se adaptam a estas mesmas transformações.A investigação pretendeu compreenderqual a perceção da comunidade jornalísticasobre as mudançasem curso e o modo como estas estão a ser incorporadas no seu trabalho diário.Através da aplicação de um inquérito por questionário foram inquiridos diretores e editores da imprensa generalista e especializada de âmbito nacional e regionalcom o intuito de compreender o modo como estes avaliam as práticas de jornalismo convergente no interior das redações.Os resultados mostramque continua aexistiruma maior valorização da edição impressapor comparação com as edições produzidas para suportes digitais. - New targets for Zika Virus determined by human-viral interactomic: a bioinformatics approachPublication . Esteves, Eduardo; Rosa, Nuno; Correia, Maria José; Arrais, Joel P.; Barros, MarleneIdentifying ZIKV factors interfering with human host pathways represents a major challenge in understanding ZIKV tropism and pathogenesis. The integration of proteomic, gene expression and Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIs) established between ZIKV and human host proteins predicted by the OralInt algorithm identified 1898 interactions with medium or high score (≥0.7). Targets implicated in vesicular traffic and docking were identified. New receptors involved in endocytosis pathways as ZIKV entry targets, using both clathrin-dependent (17 receptors) and independent (10 receptors) pathways, are described. New targets used by the ZIKV to undermine the host's antiviral immune response are proposed based on predicted interactions established between the virus and host cell receptors and/or proteins with an effector or signaling role in the immune response such as IFN receptors and TLR. Complement and cytokines are proposed as extracellular potential interacting partners of the secreted form of NS1 ZIKV protein. Altogether, in this article, 18 new human targets for structural and nonstructural ZIKV proteins are proposed. These results are of great relevance for the understanding of viral pathogenesis and consequently the development of preventive (vaccines) and therapeutic targets for ZIKV infection management.
