A preparação dos dons, geralmente conhecida como ofertório, é um sintagma
ritual da eucaristia situado entre o fim da oração universal e o início do prefácio, no qual
se leva ao altar o pão e o vinho com água. Com o Movimento Litúrgico, tornou-se num
momento privilegiado da manifestação da participação ativa dos fiéis; todavia, pastoral
e teologicamente, ele tem sido pouco refletido. A nossa análise reparte-se em três etapas:
(i) a reconstituição do itinerário histórico do atual rito de preparação dos dons no
missal romano; (ii) as coordenadas teológicas do rito reformado, compreendido como
linguagem simbólica; e (iii) uma mistagogia dos códigos comunicativos ativados pelo rito
– concretamente os verbais e não-verbais. Desejamos contribuir para uma abordagem
em linha com uma teologia renovada da liturgia, que ajude a valorizar a preparação dos
dons como interface entre a liturgia da palavra e da liturgia eucarística e como início da
liturgia eucarística, a partir da sua própria riqueza simbólica.
The preparation of the gifts, commonly known as offertory, is a ceremonial syntagma of the Eucharist performed between the end of the Universal Prayer and the beginning of the Preface, in which the bread and the wine with water are taken to the altar. With the Liturgical Movement, it became a particular manifestation of active participation of the faithful; however, pastorally and theologically, it has seldom been discussed. Our analysis is divided into three parts: (i) the reconstitution of the historical itinerary of the contemporary ritual of the preparation of the gifts in the Roman Missal; (ii) the theological directions of the reformed rite, understood as symbolic language; (iii) a mystagogy of the communicative codes activated by the ritual – particularly the verbal and the non-verbal. We wish to contribute to an approach in line with a renewed liturgical theology, which could help to appreciate the preparation of the gifts as a connection between the liturgy of the word and the liturgy of the Eucharist and also as a beginning of the liturgy of the Eucharist, from its own symbolic value.
