Este artigo pretende fazer uma revisão sistemática sobre o componente do Buffer Episódico introduzido no Modelo de Memória de Trabalho de Baddeley em 2000, como forma de responder a algumas das críticas colocadas ao modelo. Para o fazer iremos explorar o conceito propriamente dito e a forma como ele tem sido investigado ao longo da última década, através de uma revisão de literatura. Serão explorados com particular detalhe os processos de binding e chunking.
The goal of this article is to make a systematic review of the Episodic Buffer component introduced in the Baddeley's Working Memory Model in 2000, as a way to respond to some serious critics post to the working memory model. We will explore the concept and how it has been researched trough the last decade, making a review of the most relevant literature. Binding and chunking processes will be explored with particular detail.
