Abstract(s)
This work is a result of a consulting project, integrated in IBM, that aims to substitute a
patchwork IT system, that is, a system that is outdated and not adjusted to a company that has
a worldwide presence. Furthermore, it is very costly and is of scarce resources in the market.
We did both a quantitative and a qualitative analysis of the direct and indirect benefits of
implementing SAP HANA in the client. Results allow us to take two conclusions: on one
hand, it is possible to transform and maintain the new system, while the company increases
the efficiency of its business processes and saves money in the process. On the other, SAP
and IBM are aligned with the best practices in the market, which are the key trends and
drivers of technological innovation. Therefore, they can place the company at the forefront of
technology, boosting not only the IT system but also the core business of the company.
