O trabalho em apreço tem como objetivo estudar e analisar as criptomoedas, enfatizando o caminho que se está a percorrer no que toca à sua regulação e tributação. Para isso, caracteriza as mesmas, referindo também, os seus modelos concorrenciais por forma a compreender melhor esta nova categoria. É descrito o processo de como as criptomoedas nasceram e se desenvolveram e como é que chegamos onde estamos hoje. Num Mundo onde a luta para a regulação e tributação, de forma a que o mercado que as regula se torne mais eficiente e transparente, vença.
The presente work aims to study and analyze cryptocurrencies, emphasizing the path being taken in terms of regulation and taxation. To this end, it characterizes them, also referring to their competitive models in order to better understand this new category. The process of how cryptocurrencies were born and developed and how we got to where we are today is described. In a world where the struggle for regulation and taxation, so that the market that regulates them becomes more efficient and transparent, wins out.
