Abstract(s)
A Igreja Católica de Jesus Cristo é dita e crida como santa, apesar dos pecados dos seus
membros, dado que ela mesma é assistida pelo Espirito Santo que a sustenta e ampara nas
suas vicissitudes e no seu peregrinar quotidiano para a comunhão com o Pai através de
Cristo Jesus. Dito isto, é nesta Igreja, que é santa, que se logra e vive a comunhão dos
santos, quer com os bem-aventurados que se encontram reunidos em Deus, quer entre
aqueles que se encontram ainda na Igreja peregrinante. Por sua vez, esta mesma Igreja é
fortalecida pelos sacramentos, os quais, por procederem de Deus, são verdadeiramente
santos em si mesmos e cooperam na santificação da humanidade.
Jesus Christ’s Catholic Church is said and believed to be holy, despite its members at times being sinful, since it’s assisted by the Holy Spirit, Who sustains and upholds that same Church in its setbacks and in its daily pilgrimage to the final communion with the Father through Jesus Christ. Having said this, it is in this Church, which is holy, that the communion of saints is accomplished and lived, whether with the blessed ones who are gathered in God, or among those who are still in the pilgrim Church. In turn, this same Church is strengthened by the sacraments, which, since they proceed from the Most Holy God, are truly holy in themselves and cooperate in humankind’s sanctification.
