Abstract(s)
Introdução: Os irmãos saudáveis tendem a ser ‘esquecidos’ e sofrem com as mudanças na sua vida e com a perda do seu amigo-confidente. Metodologia: Revisão Sistemática da Literatura com o objetivo de determinar o nível do envolvimento dos irmãos saudáveis no processo de doença grave e prolongada da criança/adolescente e identificar as intervenções da equipa multidisciplinar. Resultados: As intervenções mais referidas foram: Proporcionar apoio psicossocial, Apoio social e Fornecer informações adequadas (promotoras); Visitas restritas, Informação insuficiente e Ausência de grupos de apoio (não-promotoras). Os efeitos mais referidos destas intervenções foram: Maior sensação de conforto, Sensação de utilidade no coping e de bem-estar. Conclusão: Os irmãos saudáveis são envolvidos em parte do processo de doença grave e prolongada. Porém ainda existe trabalho a ser feito por parte das instituições e profissionais de saúde, dos pais e de todo o meio social. É clara a necessidade de sensibilização e formação nesta problemática.
Background: The healthy siblings tend to be 'forgotten' and to suffer with all the chances in their life inlcuding the loss of their friend-confidant. Methods: Systematic Literature Review in order to determine the level of involvement healthy siblings in the serious and prolonged illness process of the child/adolescent and to identify the interventions of multidisciplinary team. Results: The most referred interventions were: To provide psychosocial, Social support and To provide adequate information (promoting); Restricted visits, Insufficient information and Absence of support groups (non-promoting). The most commonly reported effects of these were: Increased feeling of comfort, Utility sensation in coping and Well-being. Conclusions: The healthy siblings are involved in part of the severe and prolonged disease process. But there is still work to be done by the health institutions and professionals, parents and the entire social environment. It is clear the need for awareness and training on this topic.
