| dc.description.abstract | A presente monografia é um passo decisivo para a receção em Portugal de Franz Rosenzweig (1886-1929), autor cuja profundidade, originalidade e compaixão têm vindo a ser reconhecidas, granjeando-lhe um lugar cimeiro entre os filósofos contemporâneos. No seu livro de 1921 «A Estrela da Redenção», Rosenzweig propôs o que chamou um «novo pensamento». A sua rejeição do pensamento monológico – rejeição tão veemente como em Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard e Nietzsche – obrigou a olhar de outro modo para os filósofos «desde a Jónia até Jena»; a sua visão da revelação como apelo do outro ajudou a moldar o curso da filosofia e da teologia no século XX; as suas reflexões sobre a finitude e os contornos temporais da experiência humana antecipam as reflexões de Martin Heidegger e Jean-Paul Sartre; a importância que atribuiu à linguagem promoveu esta área de estudos, depois cultivada por Walter Benjamin, Paul Ricoeur e Jacques Derrida. Finalmente, o destaque atribuído à relação entre o eu e o tu originou os estudos dialógicos, em que se salientaram Martin Buber e Emmanuel Lévinas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present monograph is a decisive step towards the reception in Portugal of Franz Rosenzweig (1886-1929), an author whose depth, originality, and compassion have been recognized, earning him a prominent place among contemporary philosophers. In his 1921 book The Star of Redemption Rosenzweig proposed what he called a "new way of thinking. His rejection of monological thinking - a rejection as vehement as in Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard, and Nietzsche - forced a different look at philosophers "from Jonia to Jena"; his view of revelation as a call from the other helped shape the course of philosophy and theology in the 20th century; his reflections on finitude and the temporal contours of human experience anticipate the reflections of Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre; the importance he attached to language promoted this area of study, later cultivated by Walter Benjamin, Paul Ricoeur, and Jacques Derrida. Finally, the emphasis placed on the relationship between the I and the You gave rise to dialogical studies, in which Martin Buber and Emmanuel Lévinas stood out. | |
