Over the last eight years, we have witnessed a quick change and adoption by society of the most varied technologies and computer applications, whether for computers, smartphones or tablets. The mobile phone has become an omnipresent tool in the everyday life of the human being. This study presents and analyzes an investigation on mobile applications, namely the app designed to be implemented at the Catholic University of Braga. The goal of this investigation is - through the focus group methodology - to perceive the receptivity and perception of students in face of a mobile application as an official channel of communication between students and teachers. To this end, based on a prototype of the mobile application, interviews were carried out with students of several years and courses where it was possible to observe and extract feedback on its usability. The achieved results show a high probability of acceptance of this new technology - if implemented -, thus resulting in what they considered a means of communication and sharing of relevant content between students and teachers.
