Para compreender a “génese” -a origem, o ponto de partida –é necessário, em primeiro lugar, estudar a gnoseologia do pensamento de Daniel Serrão. Impõe-se, então, perceber o complexo corpo textual formado pelos inúmeros artigos, estudos, trabalhos –aulas, colóquios, congressos, seminários, palestras etc..., apresentados na primeira parte deste estudo. O fio condutor do pensamento bioético do autor, apesar da sua aparente variedade, revela-se pelo seu carácter único: ele constitui, de facto, o fundamento ou as fundações biográficas de todo o corpusda obra serroniana.
