A Gestão, na maneira como Peter Drucker a entende, é muito mais que gerar dinheiro.
Para ele, é uma ciência social que ajuda organizações humanas a chegar aos seus fins de forma
eficiente e eficaz. A Lumen Gentium fala-nos da Igreja salientando duas dimensões: a humana
e a divina. Nenhuma delas pode ser negada ou sobrevalorizada. Sabemos, por isso, que a Igreja
enquanto organização humana deve lutar pela santidade para transparecer a divindade. É aqui
que se cruzam a Gestão e a Igreja. A Gestão, retamente entendida, pode ajudar a Igreja a ser
mais verdadeiramente humana e, consequentemente, mais divina. Este uso da ciência da Gestão
há-de ajudar a Igreja a ser mais missionária e a levar o mundo até Deus.

Lumen Gentium give us two essential dimensions of the Church: she is human and divine. None of them can be denied or overvalued. We know the Church as an organization must strive for her sanctity to show her divinity. It is at this point that we can conjugate Management and Church. Management, rightly understood, can help the Church to be more truly human and, consequently, more divine. The use of Management Science can help the Church to be more missionary and to take the world to God.
