Obstáculos à execução da estratégia : revisão de literatura e inquérito às empresas portuguesas

| dc.description.abstract | A taxa de insucesso na implementação da estratégia apresenta uma variação de 7% a 90% (Cândido e Santos, 2015). Apesar deste facto, a literatura apresenta uma lacuna de investigação na área de gestão estratégica, relativamente à implementação da estratégia, existindo um maior enfoque na formulação da estratégia (Raps, 2005; Alashloo, Castka e Sharp, 2005; Li, Guohui e Eppler, 2008; Nómada, 2020). Posto isto, o objetivo primordial deste trabalho final de mestrado é dar resposta à questão “Quais os principais obstáculos à execução da estratégia identificados na literatura e quais desses obstáculos são os maiores dificultadores da execução da estratégia nas empresas portuguesas?”. Com o propósito de contextualizar esta questão, o trabalho aborda e analisa definições conceptuais relativas à estratégia e à sua execução, bem como às barreiras que impedem a execução da estratégia. Para além disso, é realizada a recolha, análise e classificação das barreiras identificadas na literatura disponível. Para responder à questão de investigação anteriormente referida, a opção metodológica selecionada para recolher evidências foi o inquérito dirigido às empresas portuguesas. Concluiu-se que as categorias que têm um maior peso nas empresas inquiridas são: a Comunicação, a Cultura Organizacional, a Estrutura Organizacional, o Planeamento Estratégico e, por fim, Competências e Formação, tendo sido apresentadas hipóteses que poderão explicar os resultados obtidos. Com a presente dissertação pretende-se contribuir para a categorização e sistematização das barreiras, bem como para a perceção das barreiras que as empresas portuguesas mais enfrentam, ao executar as suas estratégias. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The failure rate in strategy implementation ranges from 7% to 90% (Cândido and Santos, 2015). Despite this fact, the literature shows a gap in strategic management research regarding strategy implementation, with a greater focus on strategy formulation (Raps, 2005). Having said this, the main objective of this master's final work is to answer the question "What are the main obstacles to strategy implementation identified in the literature and which of these obstacles are the major hindrances to strategy implementation in Portuguese companies?" In order to contextualize this question, the paper addresses and analyzes conceptual definitions concerning strategy and its execution, as well as the barriers that hinder strategy execution. In addition, the barriers identified in the available literature are collected, analyzed, and classified. To answer the aforementioned research question, the methodological option selected to collect evidence was the survey, directed to Portuguese companies. It was concluded that the categories that have a greater weight in the companies surveyed are Communication, Organizational Culture, Organizational Structure, Strategic Planning, and, finally, Skills and Training, having been presented hypotheses that may explain the results obtained. This dissertation intends to contribute to the categorization and systematization of the barriers, as well as to the perception of the barriers that Portuguese companies face the most when executing their strategies. | pt_PT |
