Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho consistiu no desenvolvimento de um projeto de reabilitação de um edifício
na conhecida Rua do Comércio, situado no centro histórico de Viseu. Trata-se de um edifício dos
finais do século XIX, inícios do século XX, com algumas características arquitetónicas que o
tornam particularmente interessante e detentor de valor cultural.
No edifício pretendeu-se introduzir um modelo de alojamento temporário – hostel – e um
espaço de comércio ou serviços destinado em parte para uso, socialização e convívio tanto de
hóspedes do hostel como da população da cidade.
Sendo os centros históricos locais associados a valores de memória e identidade, pelas suas
características, mas que se encontram em grande medida em declínio. Considerou-se ser esta
uma oportunidade, não só, de reabilitar um dos seus edifícios devolutos para induzir novas
dinâmicas, como de criar espaços realmente agradáveis de usufruir para os hóspedes do
alojamento e para a população de Viseu, reforçando a sua atratividade.
Pretendeu-se assim, desenvolver uma proposta de reabilitação que pudesse contribuir para
contrariar a tendência de despovoamento e degradação do Centro Histórico de Viseu. Numa
época de crise económica e de deterioração ambiental, estes desígnios assumem uma
importância acrescida e este trabalho relaciona-se com esta problemática.
A reabilitação e a conservação do edifício teve em conta a preservação do seu valor histórico, e
a par da adequação das tipologias para a concretização do programa. Visa-se solucionar os
problemas de degradação presentes no edifício, enveredar por uma estratégia que promove
uma melhor ocupação dos espaços sem pôr em causa os valores patrimoniais em presença. Foi,
também, necessário encontrar soluções que se adequem à zona em questão, utilizando os seus
pontos fortes de modo a melhor atingir estes objetivos.
Na presente proposta de reabilitação expõe-se o percurso de investigação teórica e prática, de
forma a aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre o tipo de intervenção, o contexto e o programa.
Este estudo foi aplicado e aprofundado, numa forma iterativa, com a investigação prática, de
projeto, de modo a alcançar uma solução que dê resposta a todos os objetivos pretendidos.
This work is the development of a rehabilitation project of a building in the famous Commerce Street, in the historic center of Viseu. It is a building from the late nineteenth century, early twentieth century, with some architectural features that make it particularly interesting and holder of cultural value. The building was intended to introduce a temporary housing model - hostel - and a trade space or services intended in part to use, socialization and socializing both hostel guests as the city's population. It is associated local historical centers of memory and identity values, by their nature, but which are largely in decline. It was considered that this is an opportunity, not only to rehabilitate one of its vacant buildings to induce new dynamics, how to create really nice spaces for guests to enjoy the area and the population of Viseu, enhancing their attractiveness. It was intended to thus develop a proposal for rehabilitation that could contribute to buck the trend of depopulation and degradation of Viseu History Center. At a time of economic crisis and environmental deterioration, these designs take on added importance and this work relates to this issue. The rehabilitation and conservation of the building took into account the preservation of its historical value, and together with the adequacy of typologies for the implementation of the program. The aim is to solve the degradation problems present in the building, pursuing a strategy that promotes better occupation of spaces without jeopardizing the property values involved. It was also necessary to find solutions that suit the area in question using their strengths in order to better achieve these goals. In the proposed rehabilitation is exposed the route of theoretical and practical research in order to deepen the knowledge about the type of intervention, the context and the program. This study was applied and deepened in an interactive way, with practice research project in order to reach a solution that responds to all the desired goals.
