“Conta-me como foi” e a (re)mediação da memória histórica : dos conteúdos à receção

A ficção tem-se revelado um poderoso veículo de narrativas históricas. Para além de atuar na preservação da história, a ficção reinterpreta-a e representa-a remediada em produtos audiovisuais. Selecionou-se como objeto de estudo a série “Conta-me Como Foi” da RTP 1, nomeadamente as temporadas 6, 7 e 8, que representam o período pós 25 de abril. O foco desta investigação é o papel da ficção televisiva na mediação histórica, em concreto das temporadas enunciadas da série “Conta-me Como Foi” na reconstrução da memória histórica dos espetadores sobre o período pós 25 de abril em Portugal. Assim, o presente estudo foi orientado pelas seguintes questões de investigação: De que modo é que o período histórico pós 25 de abril foi representado nas temporadas 6, 7 e 8 da série “Conta-me Como Foi” da RTP 1? e Como é que a série “Conta-me Como Foi” da RTP 1 tem contribuído para a reconstrução da memória histórica sobre o período pós 25 de abril? Utilizou-se o método misto, com recurso às técnicas de análise de conteúdo quantitativa e de entrevistas semiestruturadas. A análise de conteúdo foi feita aos 52 episódios das temporadas 6, 7 e 8 da série “Conta-me Como Foi” da RTP 1. As entrevistas foram realizadas a 10 espetadores da série, 5 dos quais viveram o período representado e 5 que não o viveram. Os resultados revelaram que a representação do período pós 25 de abril nas temporadas 6, 7 e 8 da série “Conta-me Como Foi” foi exclusivamente referente aos anos entre 1984 e 1987. Importa referir que todos os episódios contribuíram para representar este período e que na sua maioria em cada um eram abordados três eventos histórico-sociais da época. A televisão foi um meio que assumiu um importante papel na remediação da história. Relativamente ao contributo da série para a reconstrução da memória histórica do período pós 25 abril, quem o viveu salientou a revisitação da história e quem não viveu a época em análise atribuiu à série um papel relevante no conhecimento deste período da história.
Fiction has proven to be a powerful vehicle for historical narratives. Beyond its role in the preservation of history, fiction reinterprets and remediates it into audiovisual products. This study focuses on the RTP 1 series “Conta-me Como Foi” specifically its 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons, which portray the post-April 25th period. The core of this investigation is the role of television fiction in historical mediation, with a particular emphasis on how these seasons of “Conta-me Como Foi” contribute to the reconstruction of viewers' historical memory concerning the post-April 25th period in Portugal. Thus, this study is guided by the following research questions: How is the post-April 25th historical period represented in the 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons of RTP 1’s “Conta-me Como Foi”? And How has the series “Conta-me Como Foi” contributed to the reconstruction of historical memory regarding the post-April 25th period? A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative content analysis techniques with semistructured interviews. The content analysis covered all 52 episodes of the 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons of RTP 1’s “Conta-me Como Foi” while interviews were conducted with 10 viewers of the series, five of whom lived through the period depicted and five who did not. The results revealed that the portrayal of the post-April 25th period in the 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons of “Conta-me Como Foi” was exclusively focused on the years between 1984 and 1987. It is important to note that all episodes contributed to representing this period, with most episodes addressing three historical-social events of the time. Television emerged as a medium that played a significant role in the remediation of history. Regarding the series’ contribution to the reconstruction of historical memory of the post-April 25th period, those who lived through it highlighted the revisitation of history, while those who did not experience the era attributed a significant role to the series in their understanding of this historical period.
