Este estudo teve como objetivo perceber de que modo determinados fatores poderiam levar os Doutores Palhaços a adaptar as suas visitas e o seu trabalho com crianças e adolescentes. Nesta investigação, participaram 17 indivíduos, 6 do sexo masculino e 11 do sexo feminino, que trabalham como Doutores Palhaços. Os participantes foram entrevistados em grupo, tendo sido utilizado um guião semi-estruturado. As entrevistas permitiram concluir que os profissionais têm em consideração um conjunto de fatores individuais e contextuais. Ao nível das características da população-alvo identificaram-se: a idade, o grau de receptividade, os interesses e as características clínicas da criança. Ao nível das características do contexto de intervenção, identificaram-se o período de estadia e utilização do serviço do hospital, a modalidade de intervenção e as adaptações à pandemia. Como tal, foi possível observar que os Doutores Palhaços têm em consideração diferentes características consideradas relevantes pela comunidade científica na adaptação do seu trabalho a cada criança e adolescente com a qual interagem.
This study aims to identify the characteristics that Clown Doctors take into account in their intervention with children and adolescents. Seventeen individuals participated in this research, 5 male and 11 female, who were interviewed following a semi-structured script. The interviews allowed us to conclude that professionals take into consideration a set of individual and contextual factors. The personal factors identified were: age, degree of receptivity, interests and clinical limitations of the children. Regarding the factors associated with the intervention context were identified: length and use of hospital service, the modality of intervention and the adaptations to the pandemic. As such, it was possible to observe that Clown Doctors take into account different characteristics considered relevant by the scientific community when adapting their intervention to each child and adolescent with whom they interact.
