Evolução da linguagem e ordem natural de palavras: os verbos reversíveis e não reversíveis da língua gestual de São Tomé e Príncipe num estudo piloto

| dc.description.abstract | A investigação sobre a evolução da linguagem centrou-se recentemente na questão da ordem natural de palavras, ou seja, uma ordem de palavras no sentido filogenético e cognitivo (Pagel 2009; Gell-Mann e Ruhlen 2011). As línguas gestuais e os estudos sobre gestos têm inspirado esta discussão na literatura com especial destaque para o estudo seminal de Goldin-Meadow e colegas (2008). Os resultados deste estudo revelaram que os participantes tendem a produzir a ordem de palavra SVO e SOV, independentemente da sintaxe da sua língua nativa. Esta descoberta foi corroborada em estudos posteriores (Gibson et al. 2013; Hall et al. 2013; Sandler et al. 2005). O objetivo deste estudo é verificar se existe uma ordem de palavras dominante, ou não, em todas as fases de emergência linguística na Língua Gestual de São Tomé e Príncipe. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Research on language evolution has recently focused on the issue of natural word order, that is, word order in the phylogenetic and cognitive sense (Pagel 2009; Gell-Mann and Ruhlen 2011). Sign language and gesture studies have inspired this discussion in the literature, with special emphasis on the seminal study by Goldin-Meadow and colleagues (2008). The results of this study revealed that participants tend to produce SVO and SOV word order, regardless of the syntax of their native language. This finding has been corroborated in later studies (Gibson et al. 2013; Hall et al. 2013; Sandler et al. 2005). Our study aims to verify if there is dominant word order, or not, in linguistic emergence of Sign Language of São Tomé and Príncipe. | pt_PT |
