Abstract(s)
A presente dissertação intitulada “As políticas sociais direcionadas para a população
idosa. A premência da figura do Provedor do Idoso” tem por objetivo refletir sobre o
atual envelhecimento populacional, a importância da família e das relações entre
gerações na promoção do envelhecimento mais cuidado e as políticas sociais existentes
e direcionadas para a população idosa. Para tal, começamos por enquadrar o
envelhecimento atual num contexto europeu, nacional e concelhio, explanamos
conceitos como os de família, intergeracionalidade e explicamos o setor das políticas
sociais direcionadas para a população idosa em Portugal.
Como o objeto do estudo seria trabalhar num nível concelhio, conseguimos verificar,
pelo estudo exploratório, junto dos agentes políticos-sociais entrevistados, que a
sociedade não está, atualmente, capacitada para enfrentar o envelhecimento, que as
relações intergeracionais devem ser encaradas como uma proveitosa política social e
que as atuais políticas pensadas para o envelhecimento são insuficientes ou, no caso de
pensadas, podem estar a ser mal implementadas.
Verificamos ainda que os idosos são uma estrutura social bastante desprotegida.
The present dissertation named “The social politics directed to the older populacion. The importance of the figure of aged provider” has the purpose of making us reflect about the current population aging, the importance of family and relations betwen generations and the promotion of more cared aging and the existing social politics directed to older population. To due so, we started to frame the current aging at a european context, nacional and municipality, we explained the concept family, intergenerational and we explained the social politics sector directed to old populational at Portugal. As the objective was to work at a municipality level, we managed to verify, by the exploratory study, with interviwed social politics agents, that society is not, currently, qualified to face aging, that intergenarational relations must be faced with a fruitful social politic and that the current politics thought about aging are not enought or, in case of being thought, may be misinterpreted. We verified yet that older people are a pretty unprotected social structure.
