Participaram no estudo 213 trabalhadores.
Currently, the perceived integration and impact of Emerging Technologies (ET) constitute an increasingly relevant factor within organisations, due to their potential to transform work processes. The adoption of these technologies may influence employees’ experiences and promote positive outcomes for both employees and organisations. The present study aimed to explore the relationship between the perceived integration and impact of ET in organisational contexts and job satisfaction in the industrial and service sectors, considering the moderating role of perceived organisational support and the mediating role of affective organisational commitment. A total of 213 employees participated in the study. Data were collected online, according to the availability of the organisations and participants. The data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows (SPSS®), version 28. The results revealed a positive and statistically significant relationship between the perceived integration and impact of ET and job satisfaction, indicating that more positive perceptions of these technologies are associated with higher levels of employee job satisfaction. In contrast, no empirical evidence was found to support either the moderating effect of perceived organisational support or the mediating effect of affective organisational commitment in this relationship. These findings suggest that more positive perceptions of the integration and impact of ET are associated with higher levels of job satisfaction, highlighting the importance of organisations supporting digital transformation processes through human resource management practices aimed at supporting and valuing employees, such as investment in training programmes and the development of digital skills.
