The shared services centers have grown in a pretty significant way in Portugal. This growth is justified, on one hand by the national organizations that have been adopting management models based on the shared services centers and, on the other hand, by international organizations that have created or displaced their centers to our country. Portugal appears to be the target of innumerous implementations and it’s hoped that this progress stays on for many years. The sector has been acquiring a huge dimension in statistical terms to the economy of the country by the employment vacancies created and the promotion of the infrastructure development to the point it means more and more wealth generated. At an european level, Portugal is the country that has grown the most in terms of number of implementations and employment vacancies created. However, despite the attractiveness of the country to this type of centers, the existent literature about the theme is mainly international. The national studies existent are performed by consultancy firms and mainly with a statistical basis. There aren’t any known empiric studies performed to organizations that reflect about what in international literature are considered the key variables to know this phenomenon. Therefore, the present task features a first proposal of an inquiry that systematizes the questions that seem relevant in order to be applicable to the Portuguese reality.
