Abstract(s)
This work aims to understand how the way of living and expressing the religious belief that the Community of Christian Life in Portugal (CLC-P) proposes within the scope of the Catholic religious tradition meets the needs felt by the contemporary religious subject. To this end, the main documents of the community were analysed and interviews with a set of actors of CVX (CLC) were conducted in order to analyse how they understood and valued their experience in the community The conclusions emphasize that the CVX (CLC) provides a personal and personalized journey, centred on a community experience in small groups, which is a support and a stimulus to an experience of living faith that translates into all dimensions of life. This community experience, which gives room to doubts and questions and respects the diversity of paths and the rhythm of each one, allows the individual to rediscover his sense of belonging to the Catholic Church. The conclusions also reveal that the CVX (CLC) proposal has a strong potential to respond to those people who, not being atheists or adhering to any organized religion, seek purpose for their lives.
