Abstract(s)
envelhecer a grande velocidade.
We live in an age when there is already no doubt that societies are aging at great speed. Therefore, there are more elderly people and these are reaching more advanced ages. This is why we were interested in understanding who these seniors are and how they live. The present study was developed with the objective of understanding if there are significant differences between the perception of life quality of the elders with and without regular activities. The sample was 120 people over 65 years old, living in Guimarães municipality. The results revealed variances between the two groups that showed that elders with regular activities outside their homes tend to perceive their life quality as better. For that reason, promoting life quality of the elderlies implies motivating them to regularly participate in social, recreational and ludic activities.
