| dc.description.abstract | Na presente dissertação pretendeu-se conhecer e entender qual o papel do Serviço Social na intervenção com os refugiados, à luz do respeito pela dignidade humana, enquanto valor filosófico, ético, jurídico e um dos valores base da profissão. Perante a atual crise humanitária no Médio Oriente e Norte de África, o Serviço Social é desafiado a reposicionarse e afirmar-se como agente de primeira linha na salvaguarda da dignidade humana e, consequentemente, dos direitos humanos. Tornou-se, portanto, pertinente refletir sobre a própria operacionalidade do valor da dignidade em Serviço Social, isto é, questionar como é que o reconhecimento da dignidade do outro pode e deve influenciar a atuação profissional, concretamente na intervenção com refugiados. Através da realização de entrevistas semidiretivas a Assistentes Sociais com experiência na intervenção com refugiados foi possível analisar qual o papel ocupado pelos conceitos de dignidade e direitos humanos nas práticas profissionais de um Assistente Social. Também foram entrevistados vários profissionais, frequentemente integrantes de equipas multidisciplinares, para melhor se compreender a especificidade de um Assistente Social em contexto de intervenção. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In the present dissertation it was intended to know and understand the role of Social Work in intervening with refugees, in the light of respect for human dignity, as a philosophical, ethical, legal value and one of the basic values of the profession. In the face of the current humanitarian crisis in the Middle East and North Africa, Social Work is challenged to reposition itself and assert itself as a prime agent in safeguarding human dignity and, consequently, human rights. It was therefore pertinent to reflect on the very operability of the value of dignity in Social Work, that is, to question how the recognition of the dignity of the other can and should influence the professional performance, concretely in the intervention with refugees. By conducting semi-directive interviews with social workers with experience in refugee intervention it was possible to analyze the role of dignity and human rights concept at professional practices of a Social Worker. Several professionals were also interviewed, often members of muldisciplinary teams, to better understand the Social Worker’s specificity in an intervention context. | pt_PT |
