Abstract(s)
2023, parecendo relevante investigar e identificar as contribuições e desafios desta Instituição
compreender o coração e as intenções de Me.
This dissertation paper arises precisely on the bicentenary approaching of the founding of the Congregation of Religious of Christian Instruction which will take place in 2023, and it seems relevant to investigate and identify the contributions and challenges of this Institution for the fulfilment of its evangelizing and educational mission, in response to the appeals and needs of the Church. Using the theological-bibliographic method, it was possible to analyse the historical and experiential path of the charism of sacrifice and consecration to Youth, concerning the life and mission of the Roman Catholic Church. The analysis of the documents, letters and constitutions of the congregation allowed us to understand the heart and intentions of Mother Agathe Verhelle for the Institute in the 21st century, regarding the experience of its evangelizing mission, through teaching and dedication to “tasks of human promotion and Christian education, especially among young people” (Conts. Art 57). It was found that, currently, young people are going through a time of crisis and loss of identity, which in turn provides a challenge to the Institute regarding the education of young people. For them to become aware of their potential and abilities inherent to their human, psychic and spiritual growth the church must lean in. Young people are the future and renewal of the Church. Therefore, in order to reach young people and administer them, in a dynamic and attractive way and meaningful moments of encounter with God, they have spared no effort or concession, trying to respond faithfully to the call made in the Council documents and in Puebla. Therefore, it is concluded that the experience of the charism of sacrifice and consecration of Religious Sisters of Christian Instruction, in schools, in communities inserted in their educational works, represents an important contribution to the mission of the Church among its youth.
