Adaptação transcultural para o português de Portugal de um e-book desenvolvido sobre a técnica de Hall

Introdução: A Técnica de Hall é uma abordagem minimamente invasiva utilizada no tratamento de lesões de cárie em molares decíduos, apresentando elevada taxa de sucesso clínico e boa aceitação por parte das crianças e dos cuidadores. Objetivo: O presente trabalho teve como objetivo adaptar para português de Portugal um e-book educativo sobre a Técnica de Hall, procurando adequar os conteúdos ao contexto <br/>académico e clínico nacional. Esse trabalho foi realizado no âmbito de uma parceria académica com a Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade de São Paulo (FOUSP) e a Faculdade de Medicina Dentária da Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FMDUCP). Materiais e Métodos: Para fundamentar o trabalho, foi realizada uma revisão narrativa da literatura científica nas bases de dados PubMed e Scopus, incluindo <br/>artigos publicados entre 2020 e 2025 relacionados com o tema. Paralelamente, procedeu-se à adaptação linguística e terminológica do material educativo, bem como à organização gráfica do conteúdo em formato digital ilustrado. Resultados: O trabalho resultou na adaptação de um recurso educativo em português de Portugal, incluindo conteúdo científico atualizado e um protocolo clínico ilustrado da Técnica de Hall. Este material pretendeu contribuir para a divulgação de abordagens minimamente invasivas em Odontopediatria e para o desenvolvimento de recursos pedagógicos acessíveis em medicina dentária. Foi ainda desenvolvido um protocolo clínico fotográfico da técnica, com o objetivo de facilitar a compreensão sequencial do procedimento clínico. Conclusões: Considera-se que estes recursos poderão contribuir para a divulgação da técnica, para a promoção da medicina dentária de mínima intervenção e para o acesso à informação científica atualizada por estudantes <br/>e profissionais de saúde oral.
Introduction: The Hall Technique is a minimally invasive approach used in the management of carious lesions in primary molars, presenting high clinical success rates and good acceptance among children and their caregivers. Objective: This study aimed to adapt an educational e-book on the Hall Technique into European Portuguese, ensuring that its content was appropriate for the Portuguese academic and clinical context. This work was carried out within the framework of an academic partnership between the School of Dentistry of the University of São Paulo (FOUSP) and the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Portuguese Catholic University (FMD-UCP). Materials and Methods: To support this project, a narrative review of the scientific literature was conducted using the PubMed and Scopus databases, including articles published between 2020 and 2025 related to the topic. Simultaneously, the educational material underwent linguistic and terminological adaptation, as well as graphical organization into an illustrated digital format. Results: The project resulted in the adaptation of an educational resource into European Portuguese, including updated scientific content and an illustrated clinical protocol of the Hall Technique. This material aimed to contribute to the dissemination of minimally invasive approaches in Paediatric Dentistry and to the development of accessible educational resources in Dental Medicine. In addition, a photographic clinical protocol of the technique was developed to facilitate the sequential understanding of the clinical procedure. Conclusions : These resources may contribute to the dissemination of the Hall Technique, promote minimally invasive dentistry, and facilitate access to up-to-date scientific information for dental students and oral health professionals.
