Esta dissertação procura refletir sobre a natureza e a função dos ministérios laicais na Igreja
Católica. Partindo dos pressupostos teológicos e históricos, bem como da perspetiva do
Magistério da Igreja, intentamos perceber qual a importância dos leigos na vida da Igreja,
particularmente o seu papel na evangelização. Procedemos ainda a uma análise de campo,
recolhendo a opinião de diversos intervenientes na missão da Igreja, o que permitiu perceber
que apesar de se reconhecer a importância dos leigos, há ainda caminho a percorrer de modo a
implementar aquilo que é preconizado.
Reflecting on the nature and function of lay ministries in the Catholic Church is the main purpose of this dissertation. Taking the theological and historical assumptions, as well as the perspective of the Magisterium of the Church as a starting point, we try to understand the importance of lay people in the life of the Church, particularly their role in evangelization. We also proceeded to a field analysis, gathering the opinion of several stakeholders in the mission of the Church, allowing to realize that despite acknowledging the importance of the laity, there is still a way to go in order to implement what is established.
