Abstract(s)
O presente estudo integra o projeto MATES e tem como objetivo compreender as motivações e processos de recrutamento e radicalização islâmica jihadista de mulheres ocidentais. Tendo em conta o aumento da adesão de mulheres ocidentais a redes terroristas jihadistas, espera-se, com este estudo, uma maior compreensão das causas e motivações associadas a este fenómeno, de forma a contribuir para a prevenção da radicalização destas mulheres e/ou a sua desradicalização. Partindo de uma metodologia qualitativa, foram analisadas as histórias de recrutamento e radicalização jihadista de sete mulheres ocidentais. Em relação aos resultados deste estudo, é possível verificar que existe uma vasta fonte de aliciamento, estratégias e meios de recrutamento de mulheres, que nos podem dar pistas importantes para a prevenção do recrutamento jihadista no ocidente. Foi possível ainda constatar, no processo de radicalização destas mulheres, evidências da mudança no sentido da radicalização que podem também ser relevantes para a deteção precoce e prevenção de processos de radicalização.
The present study integrates the MATES project and aims to understand the motivations and processes of islamic jihadist recruitment and radicalization of western women. In view of the increased participation of Western women in jihadist terrorist networks, it is hoped that this study will provide a better understanding of the causes and motivations associated with this phenomenon, in order to contribute to the prevention of the radicalization of these women and / or its de-radicalization. Using a qualitative methodology, the histories of jihadist recruitment and radicalization of seven western women were analyzed. Regarding the results of this study, it is possible to verify that there is a vast source of enticement, strategies and means of recruiting women, which can give us important clues to the prevention of jihadist recruitment in the West. It was also possible to verify, in the radicalization process of these women, evidence of the change towards radicalization that may also be relevant for the early detection and prevention of radicalization processes.
