O objetivo geral do estudo é compreender quais são os fatores que contribuem para a adaptação no processo de luto após a perda de um familiar em Cuidados Paliativos.
Neste sentido foi utilizado o método qualitativo onde se procedeu à realização de uma entrevista semiestruturada. No estudo foram entrevistados cinco participantes que estão num processo de luto há pelo menos seis meses. O tratamento de dados segue os princípios da grounded theory e a sua análise ocorreu a partir do recurso ao software N-VIVO.
Como principais resultados obteve-se como fatores de risco as dificuldades económicas, sentimentos de tristeza, arrependimento, stress, solidão e ansiedade, o facto de a morte ser inesperada, dificuldades em aceitar a perda e outros acontecimentos de vida que tenham ocorrido para o cuidador após a morte do seu familiar; e como fatores protetores o suporte social, o facto de poder ter assistido à morte e as estratégias que foram desenvolvidas para reconstruir a sua vida após a perda.
Concluindo, a realização deste tipo de estudos é importante, pois a partir destes, os profissionais de saúde podem aperfeiçoar as suas práticas profissionais utilizadas com este tipo de população.
The aim of this study is to understand the factors that contributes to the adaptation during grief process after death of a relative in Palliative Care. For this, it was used a qualitative method where a semi-structured interview was carried out. In this study five people in a grief process for at least six months was interviewed. Data processing was performed using the N-VIVO software following the principles of grounded theory. Economic difficulties, feeling of sadness, loneliness and anxiety, unexpected death, the difficulty to accept the loss as well as another life events which occurs after death of relative were identified as the main risk factors, while the social support, to witness death and the strategies that were developed to rebuild his life after the relative loss were pointed as protective factors. In conclusion, the performance of this type of studies is important, since from these, health professionals can improve their professional practices used with this type of population.
